At Christian Park School 82, part of IPS, we recognize the crucial role of understanding and addressing the broader life challenges that our students and their families face. Our commitment extends beyond traditional academic support; we foster an environment where students feel safe and trusted to share their personal struggles and receive the help they need.

The stories our students share about their lives, whether it's a lack of basic necessities like heating or food, are not just heard—they are actively addressed. These narratives are a poignant reminder of the trust our students place in our staff and the critical support systems we have in place. Ms. Gutierrez, a dedicated member of our team, exemplifies our approach to holistic education. She not only listens to these concerns with empathy but also actively coordinates with resources within our school to provide necessary assistance.

Ms. Napoli, our school counselor, plays a pivotal role in this supportive network. She works closely with teachers to ensure that students facing hardships are considered for additional support, such as holiday gifts or aid from our well-stocked food pantry. This pantry is a vital resource, offering assistance to many families every Monday, helping to alleviate some of their burdens.

At Christian Park 82, the effort of every staff member, like Ms. Gutierrez, underlines our commitment to not just educate but also to empower and support our students in every aspect of their lives, proving every day what’s possible in a nurturing school environment.
